Unite

This blog is called "Summer Sno Unite". We can't be united without Dustin & Jenny on here. We need to find a way to get them on so they can share in the joy of blogging along! How can we help?

Let's Get Together

I think we need to get together! Is there ever a time when we could? Give me some ideas.

Name Change and such

After much questioning...I would like to explain the name change thing in two ways - cheapness and Texas love. When I moved to DC 5 years ago I decided I wanted to keep my Texas license for as long as I could. I don't have a car here so I didn't need to change it anyways. My license does not expire until August of this year and I didn't want to get a new one until I got back to Texas - which is coming up this June! I also haven't changed it because I'm cheap. Yea, that's right. It costs money to get a new passport, social security card, and driver's license. Josh is fine with it and it hasn't been a problem to keep it. I will probably get around to it sometime before August. My parents are horrified.

For those of you who care - Josh and I are moving to Austin at the end of May this year. We don't have jobs or a place to live - but we're moving. It will be a bit of a transition for us - I ride the bus to work, Josh rides his bike, I own snow boots and a million wool sweaters. I am ready to leave the traffic and the presidential motorcades behind, but I am not ready to leave the fall leaves, snow and friends. If you have never been to DC, you are missing out on something great. We will be here until May 28 if you need to plan a trip. My mother says I'm a great tour guide.

A Word From Mother Teresa

How fun! Thanks for sharing it with me.

I remember the sticky notes and running out of ice. I remember the storm that came through and I came to rescue (I think it was) Dustin and Charity. I remember who cleaned up best...remember, I have a cleaning service. I remember having great employees, who were responsible, honest, mostly good to the customers (ha) and who were fun to work with. It was a great time for me too. You will always each have a special place in my heart. You will always be the face of "SummerSno".

Mother Teresa

P.S. Jessica why haven't you changed your name? I hear you are coming back to Texas. Finally!

Tribute to Dave & Teresa

The Snow Cone stand was the best idea ever. It gave us teenagers a safe place to work and hang out. It allowed us to be with friends that we still love and cherish today. And it enabled us to be more responsible for oursleves and the money we made. Thank you for giving us such a great opportunity!!! We are very thankful for the Best Job all of us ever had.

P.S. - Thanks for the Free Snow Cones too!!!!!

More Memories

Remember when we would see how many gross flavors we could make. I think one was root beer with margarita. I think anything with margarita we tried.

Also my favorite memory was the smell when you walked in the door of the building. The blast of cold air and smell of sweet flavors.

Every time I have gone to a snow cone stand since I put my head by the window and sniff. Then I remember hating the ones who stuck their head in our window. I hated that!!!

This is fun. . .and educational!!!

I Remember!

In stream with Charity's post....

I remember playing poker and whoever lost had to eat the snow cone flavor of the winner's choosing. It was just a bite on a spoon which made the bad flavors worse because of the high concentrtion of syrup!

An old high school football player climbed in the window and said "I've always wanted to do that!" (I think Chris Childers...why I remember...who knows)

The man who couldn't read always ordered what the person before him had.

The little girl who made her dad buy a snow cone for her imaginary friend.....

I drank the water that we had at the "sink" which really came from the Circle J water spout by the gas pumps and got SO SICK and Holly had to come relieve me.... I was just laying on the floor moaning! I had also just eaten a lot of twizzlers and so I didn't eat twizzlers again for at least 5 years!

There are still songs that come on the radio and I am transported back to that place.

Fun Times, fun times
Jenny- I hope that Brandon learns long division. Then can he teach me? j/k

Remember the Time...

...when Charity put her hand in the machine to clean out the ice while it was still running and it almost chopped off her finger? (I thought I had cherry syrup in my glove but it was blood!)
... when Jenny went to the Circle J payphone to call KLUV and request a song?
...when the scary man sat out in his car forever watching us! I'm still not sure what he was doing.
...when the lady complained EVERYDAY because there wasn't an awning and she was hot.
...when you were so bored that you would stare at the temperature thing at the bank praying it would change just so you would have something to watch.
...when we would open the back door and throw the little pieces of ice out.

Favorite Flavors

My All-Time Top 5 Favorite Flavors are:

5.)Cherry Cola
4.)Coconut w/Cream
3.)Banana
2.)Pina Colada
and my number 1.) favorite is. . .PEACH CINNAMON--who came up with that by the way--KUDOS!!

Do you know that I haven't had a snow cone since I was pregnant with Jacob. I am so ashamed!!!!

What are yours??????
